Arrival: You may check in Saturday May 3, 2008 at Allegany State Park, New York.
Attendance: This seminar is limited to 85 people. NPBA members, their guests, and those who would qualify for membership under the organization’s constitution may attend. Members and probationary members only will be allowed to attend, and any person who meets the requirements for membership. Please make note that a guest may attend, but the guest cannot bring a hound unless they meet the membership requirements. All guests that are not bringing a hound will be charged a pro-rated fee (contact Roger Titus). All forms that are sent in will be reviewed and if you do not meet the requirements for membership your money will be returned. Only bloodhounds will be allowed at camp, and only one dog per handler is eligible to attend. Kennels will not be provided, so bring your own crates or pens. Handlers will be responsible for the upkeep of their dog’s area. Handlers are encouraged to bring and wear their working gear.
Food: A light dinner will be
provided for those arriving on May 3. Meals
provided beginning with breakfast on Sunday,
May 4 through breakfast on Friday, May 9, 2008.
Lodging: Heated dormitory/cabins to be shared by four to five handlers will be provided in the cost of registration. Additional accommodations are available through the park office. Classrooms with audiovisual equipment, mess hall and meeting rooms are all available. The crux of the training will focus primarily on actual field work, with day and night training as well as classroom instruction for new handlers. A variety of scenarios will be presented. The 65,000 acre state park is fully available, as well as rural and town settings. A questionnaire for each handler and their hound will be completed prior to the seminar in order to identify their targeted areas of training.
Notes: There are no special activities scheduled or provided for guests. The event is designed for the training of handlers, who are police officers, and their bloodhounds. Children attending will be the responsibility of the parent and not the National Police Bloodhound Association or the host. Children will be supervised at all times and will not be allowed in the training area alone.

Directions to Allegany State Park From Route 17 (Southern Tier Expressway): Exits 19 and 20 for Red House Area From Route 219: Follow 219 to Route 17 West; or from Bradford, Pennsylvania, take the Interstate Parkway to Quaker Area entrance.
Inside the park there will be signs showing the way to the camp.
