The National Police Bloodhound Association is proud to be the oldest Man-Trailing Bloodhound Organization in the Country.
To get the most out of your NPBA Membership we encourage our members to get involved and regularly attend one or all of our three annual training seminars. For more information on Membership and benefits please see details below.
Membership Information
For NEW Membership, please complete the "Membership Application" link above and please reach out to our Vice President, Erik Roedel (vicepresident@npba.com) for more organization information, and for the first steps for you or your organization!
- New membership applicants work together with our Membership Coordinator and Training Coordinator to complete the New Membership requirements as listed below.
Membership Dues Renewals can be completed in your online membership portal. Please use your credentials to sign in and check on your expiration. If you have any issues, please reach out to treasurer@npba.com.
Individual Membership - $ 50.00 annual fee
Senior Membership - $ 20.00 annual fee
New Membership - $ 50.00 annual fee
Requirements for New Membership

Open to sworn law enforcement personnel and other individuals possessing police powers. Must have powers of arrest.

Individual applicants must be actively using bloodhounds in Law Enforcement and Search & Rescue

Applicants must serve a one-year probationary period and attend an NPBA Seminar at which time he or she must have six months of training records reviewed by an NPBA instructor.
- The applicant must furnish a letter from the federal, state, county, or municipal department they work through clarifying their status with that agency.
Membership Benefits
Includes the opportunity to attend any one of our three Annual Seminars and apply for certification for your team.
The NPBA One-Year Bloodhound Certification consists of completing an extensive 40-hour class consisting of classroom instruction, fieldwork, written test, and successful instructor evaluations. Contact Chris Nichols, NPBA training coordinator for more information.
Membership includes the National Police Bloodhound Association’s digital quarterly newsletter “NOSE NEWS”, which will keep you updated on various topics that affect you as a handler.
Payment
Membership can be made in the online AMO portal using your unique credentials issued in membership.
